Cupping Therapy
Cupping originated in 1550 BC in Middle Eastern cultures. There are a few different styles of cupping. We use dry vacuum cups. They are placed on trigger points throughout the body & left in place for up to 10 minutes. They can also glide along the muscles with minimal suction. While not all areas of the body require deep tissue massage, some trigger point areas may need continuous pressure for a few moments to release the knot. If untreated, these knots can radiate some pain in the exact area or further away from the source. The red marks you have probably noticed on professional athletes are not bruises, but areas where blood flow was stagnant.

You may experience some mild discomfort to no discomfort at all. The therapist may have you move, or the therapist may move your body to stretch the area of primary focus.
- Allow blood flow to trouble spots.
- Expedites the body's own healing process.
Do not have a big meal prior to your massage as pressure can be uncomfortable on a full belly trying to digest food. Relax and speak up if the pressure is too much. You may want to ice an area that received deep tissue to calm down any aggravation or soreness. You may also want to wear a sports top if doing more stretches.
